Principal, Tenisha Tate-Austin

Ms. Tate is originally from Los Angeles, where she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. She has a Master of Social Welfare Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Master of Education Administration degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills. She has served as a psychiatric social worker, an executive director of an educational non-profit, middle school teacher, and an assistant principal for kindergarten through twelfth grades. Ms. Tate lives in Marin City with her husband, son, and daughter.

Ms. Tate has a strong commitment to building equitable educational systems that work for all kids. Believing that education is a powerful tool, she is excited to lead Miller Creek students toward high academic achievement, as well as ensuring all students feel connected through a positive school experience.

The parents, staff, and administrators chose Ms. Tate for many reasons, including her natural leadership, her special love for middle-schoolers, and her warmth and kindness. We are certain that she’ll make a positive impact on our community in countless ways. She looks forward to meeting the fabulous Miller Creek family!


Mr. Lecy is originally from Boulder, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he studied History and Political Science. He received his Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Dominican University and his Masters in Education and Administrative Services Credential from San Francisco State University. Mr. Lecy has worked as an instructional assistant in high school special education, a high school special education program lead, an elementary school teacher, and an elementary school administrator before becoming the Miller Creek Assistant Principal in 2016.

Mr. Lecy is committed to building strong relationships within the Miller Creek community and has enjoyed working with the dedicated staff and talented students at Miller Creek. He believes in the power of restorative practices and wants to help equip each student with the skills they need in order to thrive during their time at Miller Creek. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, including his young daughter and being outdoors; camping, hiking, and birding. He also loves to play basketball in local adult leagues.
