Native American Heritage Month

Here is an article on Native American Heritage Month including lesson ideas from the ADL. Recognizing the contributions of the native people to our country is critical, particularly for our students. We recognize that Miller Creek Middle School is situated on what was originally Miwok land. We respect those that have come before us. #StrongerTogether

New Panther

We are pleased to share that Ms. Patricia Rodarte has recently joined the Panther family as our Attendance and Admissions Secretary. Ms Rodarte is bilingual and has a wealth of experience both in and out of schools. Our beloved Jamie Clark will soon retire. In the interim, the pair will work together to ensure a smooth transition. Please help us wish Mrs. Clarke a lovely retirement and help us welcome Ms. Rodarte to the Panther Family.

Welcome Back Sixth Graders!

We did it, wave 3 was a success! All 6th graders successfully returned to school today. A huge thank you to our WEB leaders, HSC Volunteers, teachers, custodian, instructional assistants and office staff for welcoming our students to Middle School. Students came to school fired up and ready to learn. Teachers explained our new safety protocols and students listened attentively.

Parents, thank you for sending us your best. We are ecstatic to be able to have students on campus for in person instruction. We are looking forward to continuing to provide a rigorous instructional program for our Panthers. With your partnership we will get through this. #StrongerTogether

Message From Nurse Jane Ganorkar

Even though the Thanksgiving break is starting, we know COVID isn't taking a break. Over the break, please let us know if your student has symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, fever of 100.4 degrees or greater, chills, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea) or has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19  or COVID-19 symptoms. You can email the school nurse (jganorkar@millercreeksd.org) or call the attendance/office at 415-492-3775 and leave a message. This way we can keep track of who should be in school after we return. When students return to school please to continue to use the Crisis Go system.

Message From Superintendent Rosales and Assistant Superintendent Treewater

Hello Miller Creek Community,

Thank you, CanDo! Foundation for filming this short video, Back to School 2.0. It’s a wonderfully touching reminder of why we do what we do. Please take 2 minutes and enjoy the full screen view. In this season of gratitude, we are so thankful for our long partnership with CanDo! and the legacy of enrichment programs they have made possible for our students with the generous donations from our community.

Almost unbelievably, the holidays are here. Health Department recommendations to safely celebrate and protect yourself and your family include wearing face coverings, keeping a distance, and staying outdoors when possible. The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to celebrate at home with the people you live with. Please review the new CDC Thanksgiving guidance and Holiday considerations and keep doing the things you’re doing to protect yourself and others, even if the people around you are not.

We can not overstate the importance of our entire community’s behavior during this holiday season. The choices people make will directly impact our ability to keep our schools open for learning. As we saw in the video linked above, our students are excited to be back at school for in-person learning and they make it worth our collective best effort to adhere closely to the guidance provided to us by Public Health to prevent transmission of the virus.

We hope that you will find safe ways to connect with your loved ones and we wish everyone a safe and healthy season.

We are THANKFUL for our wonderful Panther Families and hope that everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving week!

Kindly note that our campus and Administrative offices are closed. Please be mindful that staff will be spending quality time with their families, so kindly avoid contacting staff during this time.
